For Blanche on the Conway/Gibbons Family
My Heritage.com
I am pretty dang sure this is a Conway---could be my Grandfather James A. Conway (1893)--or it could be his father Thomas J. Conway, (1862) my Great Grandfather--has the resemblance to my father in brow and eyes is too uncanny not to be.
Perhaps the uniform could help to date. |
Family Photo taken on Ruth Conway Brown's Wedding Day
Elizabeth Theresa Gibbons Conway is first row center with husband, James A. Conway on her right. Her daughter from a prior marriage to her immediate left is Milly, than Abby and Margie. To the right of James Conway is Betty, who is Jimmy's wife (standing hehind her) and Sissy is last, she is my fathers' twin sister.
Top row starting left is Joey, Georgie, Jimmy, Mike my Dad, Ruth, her new husband Charles Brown, Milly son Donny and her husband, than comes Tommy and Uncle Charlie, (Marge' husband). Below is a Picture of James and Elizabeth with Charles Brauer Margie's husband. |
Memorial for Dorothy "Abby" Conway-Colonna
This is a memorial video I made of my Aunt Abby (Dorothy Conway Colonna) after she passed. Abby was very close to me and my sisters and lived close by us all our lives from when we lived on Thomas Street in Elizabeth to when we moved to Rahway Avenue.
I make photo slide shows for a living so I figured I'd share a bunch of goodies with you here. |

For Blanche
- Here are some pictures that might be something or nothing. The only one that had a name on it was the one in the top left corner. The name Mary was written on the Back. I do not recall Abby ever talking about Twin girls, but I found two pictures of twins and the background is pretty much the same as other backgrounds where my Grandmother Elizabeth had her picture taken---so I'm thinking it could be someone on her side of the family. The photo in the bottom right corner came up a few times for wedding photos and I felt that it could very well be a Gibbons. Grandma Gibbons died before my older sister was born so any chatter about her side of the family occurred before my time and/or when I was too young to sponge it up.
